Staff from the New Jersey Library for the Blind and Handicapped proudly display the new, specially equipped Vision Van designed to promote the free services and technology that NJLBH offers to individuals with disabilities that prevent them from reading standard print. The library offers services to people who cannot see to read or hold a book. It also provides programs and services to the Deaf or Hard of Hearing. As they travel throughout the state in the Vision Van, NJLBH staff will demonstrate some of the assistive technology available for individuals with print disabilities to access print material and other media. To schedule a presentation in English or Spanish, call 609-530-3242. The van was funded through a grant from Lydia Collins deForest Charitable Trust / Fleet National Bank, a Bank of America Company, Jean T. Marano and Robert Bourne, Co-Trustees.
Showing off the Vision Van in front of the New Jersey State Library in Trenton, are NJLBH staff Anne McArthur, Head of Outreach and Audiovision; Carol Yoest, Director of Development; Sharon Rawlins, Head of Youth Services and Luz Sanchez, Hispanic Outreach Coordinator.
