KEN WOODARD

Ken Woodard, an Atlantic City native, began painting as a child.  A commercially successful artist, his work has been incorporated into menus for renowned restaurants and magazine advertisements, and is also featured at EuroDisney-Paris.

Mr. Woodard’s art celebrates his racial diversity (African American, Native American and Caucasian).  His themes include Native American and Southwestern scenes.

Mr. Woodard has been able to use technology to continue to paint because the Lions Blind Center of Absecon, in cooperation with Michael Parker at Visibility, Inc., provided him with a high-tech closed circuit system which allows him to paint despite his recent visual impairment.

Mr. Woodard has received many awards, both national and international, including the 2006 Donald Sykes Award, given by Atlantic County to an individual with a disability who does not allow it to impede his life.
